Overview

Q ("we", "our", or "the app") is a live AI dating coach application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app and services.

We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide our services. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Information We Collect

Audio Data

When you start a coaching session, Q accesses your device's microphone to capture audio of your conversation. This audio is streamed in real-time to our servers and to OpenAI's servers for AI processing. Audio is processed in real-time and is not permanently stored. After processing, the audio data is immediately discarded and is not retained by us or OpenAI.

Conversation Transcripts

During a session, the AI generates a text transcript of the conversation. This transcript is sent to OpenAI for analysis and coaching feedback, then returned to your device and stored locally. We do not retain transcripts on our servers after the session ends.

Session Data

We store session metadata locally on your device, including:

  • Session date, time, and duration
  • Scores and coach feedback
  • Session outcome

This data is stored on your device and is not uploaded to our servers unless you explicitly enable cloud sync.

Usage Data

We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics such as number of sessions started, average session length, and feature usage. This data is not linked to your identity and is used solely to improve the app.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide real-time AI coaching during your sessions
  • Generate post-session scores, feedback, and conversation analysis
  • Track your progress and display statistics within the app
  • Improve the quality and performance of our AI coaching

Third-Party Services and Data Sharing

Q uses OpenAI's API to power the AI coaching and conversation analysis. Before your first session, the app will ask for your explicit consent before any data is shared with OpenAI.

What data is sent to OpenAI:

  • Real-time audio from your coaching sessions (via microphone)
  • Conversation transcripts generated during sessions

How OpenAI handles your data:

  • OpenAI processes this data solely to provide real-time coaching responses.
  • OpenAI does not use API inputs or outputs to train their models.
  • OpenAI does not retain your data after processing is complete.
  • OpenAI maintains industry-standard security practices and data protection measures consistent with or equivalent to our own.

No data is shared with any other third parties.

Data Storage and Security

  • All persistent data (sessions, transcripts, scores) is stored locally on your device.
  • Audio is processed in real-time and immediately discarded — it is never stored on our servers or on your device.
  • All data transmitted between your device, our servers, and OpenAI is encrypted using TLS.
  • Audio streams are transmitted over secure WebSocket connections using TLS encryption.

Data Retention

  • Audio data: Processed in real-time and discarded immediately. Not stored by us or OpenAI.
  • Transcripts: Stored locally on your device only. Not retained on our servers.
  • Session metadata: Stored locally on your device only.

We do not maintain a database of your conversations. All persistent data is under your control, and you can delete it at any time through the Profile tab in the app.

Your Rights

  • Access your data — all session data is visible in the app's Progress tab.
  • Delete your data — use the "Delete Account" option in the Profile tab to permanently remove all data from your device.
  • Withdraw consent — you can revoke permission to share data with OpenAI at any time in the app's settings. Doing so will disable AI coaching features.
  • Stop using the app — no data is retained on our servers after you stop.

Children's Privacy

Q is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the app and updating the "Last updated" date above.
